DALAI LAMAS 75TH BIRTHDAY...BUILDING A BRIDGE OF LOVE!

I am writing this Monday evening because I have an early
appointment in the morning and I did not want to rush
my post as I feel this is such a special day.
It is the Dalai Lamas 75th Birthday!
I believe this is someone we should celebrate.
He states 'This is my simple religion, there is no need for temples,
no need for complicated philosophy,
our own brain, our own heart is our temple,
the philosophy is kindness."
I feel there is so much wisdom in his words.Imagine if every individual
could  open there hearts and be kind to all others, what a truly
wonderful world it would be.
.................................................
Se'lah from Necessary Room came up with the idea of Building a Bridge of Love
by doing a Random Act of Kindness.Se'lah has such a wonderful heart and she exudes kindness
in her life and in her blog, when she leaves a comment it is sincere and she is genuine.
She strives every day to be her best, and to do her best. She is one love.
...............................................................................................
So today as I am headed to the hospital for an appointment
I have a huge opportunity to do more than one act of kindness.
My plan is to smile for someone who is sad,
to be a shoulder to lean on or cry to.
I will treat others as I would want to be treated.
I hope just for a moment on a day when they are facing hardships
that the kindness of a stranger can make a difference,
sometimes even a Hello can be important, or to listen with an understanding ear.
After my appointment I will sit on one of the benches and visit
with some people that are staying in the hospital, that are just waiting for someone to say hello,
to make the time pass just a little quicker, maybe my husband and I will buy a coffee or a meal
for someone, and then we will head home as I will be tired from my outing....
And as I lay my head upon my pillow
I will know in my heart
that what I did mattered to the other person and to me.
.......................
May we all feel the love by doing an act of kindness,
together we can build a Bridge of Love.
We just have to believe with open hearts and open minds.
................
May you have your very best of days.
Thank you to Se'lah .

  1. Brilliant post and some apt thoughts for the times we live in. Simple acts of kindness can make such a difference ..... and both the receiver and the giver benefits. Thank you for reminding me of the Dalai Lama's birthday!

  2. Happy BDay to His Holiness....
(Really, every day is his birthday - in a way!)

And Cinner - you are very kind - randomly, intentionally...
In many ways! Take care of your sweet self!

  3. This morning I thought of when our family was waiting in the hospital as our 96 year old grandma prepared for her journey home. I stood in the hallway of the hospital and made a conscious effort to give a compliment to everyone who walked by. I could see the worry on their faces before I spoke to them and it was so refreshing to see a smile on their faces, if only for a brief moment. Kindness rocks! and so do you Ms. Cinner!

    one love.

  4. Cinner: What a lovely day plan you have. The striking thing about RAOK is that the giver is so blessed by the acts that they are usually charged for doing it again. I love the build a bridge of love thought. Happy Birthday to the Dalai Lhama and Happy kindness day to you.

  5. Such a thoughtful post Cinner. I do wish you well with your tests today. The quote from the Dali Lama reminded me of something that my mom used to always say. " It's nice to go to church but God is with you wherever you are".
    Love Di ♥

  10. Cinner, you are another of the beautiful people I meet here in the blog land. I so love when you say that "I will treat others as I would want to be treated" if only everyone would do that we all would benefit from a huge shift to a nice world to live in. I'm sure that you made smile many people today and that you made their day better. And so you made better your day too because we are all inter-connected; what we do to us we do to others and vice versa ...love and hugs! (thank you so much for your wonderful comment, unfortunately blogger eat it and I don't know how to fix it back :-(; I hope that it will be fixed soon even though I completely depend on blogger to do so ... I just wanted you to know that I could read your comment and I was happy to get it from you :-)

Diana, that is true about church. I like to go, but don't get there as often as I should, but he is every where. I just had an appointment today, change in medications, so no tests. all went as expected, I was told I might have insomnia for about 5 nights....I am hoping not....I hope you are well and that you have had a good day. you have a wonderful heart and I am not just saying it. I mean it. hugs to you, take care.

Se'lah, so sorry about your Grandma, I so understand about seeing a smile on someones face even just for a moment. When my Dad died, the nurses in ICU had been so kind to him, that I had gone and thanked them for doing what they could. One of the nurses was very emotional, and I held her hand and told her that she was a special person because I told her I would not be able to do her job everyday. She told me she thought she might need a drink that night and I told her I thought my Dad would like that. There is not a day that goes by that I do not think of her how truly caring she was. I hope one day I too can change someones life or at least make a difference. thankyou for your idea, you always have the best.

Linda, do you know how long it took me to figure out what Roak is....lord I was a blond but only until about two years old. It is true I think by doing we get more back. I hope you are having fun with the puppy. hugs to you and thanks for your kind comment. take care.

Anne, that was the funniest video this am, I started my day with a good laugh. your very kind, look at what you do every day, look at how many lives you have touched along your way,,,,that is amazing to me. I hope you have an awesome day my friend. take care.
