Time Has Come

Time Has Come

I have thought long and hard about my decision to no longer continue blogging for no other reason than my Computer that I have lovingly named Garfield has seen better days. I feel that time has come for me to
get out and start doing and as someone with a Chronic Illness time only permits so much. I want to thank all of you who encouraged me, befriended me, read and posted on my blog. You truly have made an impact on my life. I have been inspired by your photography, your words of wisdom, honesty, and compassion, your artistry, and most of all by your hearts. If I can take one thing away from this experience is that each individual has so much to offer in this world and that lifes struggles hit everyone of us throughout our lives. We are all very similar, I am signing off wishing you health, happiness and love. I will keep you in my heart. I hope you all continue to have your best of days. Until next time, Cinner

Out of Focus

Yes this is me admitting that I am way out of focus.
I tallied up my water for the month of July
Goal 300 Actual  152
This is glasses of water not weight....
So first goal for August, you guessed it is actually hitting my target.
The boys say they are going to help me starting in the morning.
why not tonight? Well I sent them off to a ballgame with their Uncle.
My second goal is to get plenty of rest.
We have all been up until midnight the last few nights,
and today well I just have to admit their mother is right.
They do need plenty of rest.
It really reminds me how our moods can effect our whole day.
This is what I learned today.
1. my nephews hate wall papering
2. Things must have really been different in the old days
back in the 80's(what are they kidding me)
3. the boys think their mother needs to learn more about computers
and get into the now.
4.Printers work if you plug them in. oh yes the joy of the 18 year old to tell me that.
I might have to glue his shoes to the floor tonight. lol. ahhh if only I could bend.
5. The pigeons from next door are learning to fly and they can make it to the next
house on the other side. I guess this reminds me to take small steps.
6. I learned today how awesome it is to come here and read all
your wonderful comments and how that lifted my spirits.
A big hug and a thank you to all.
Well off to fill the glass again,
Until next time

Focus on Progress Not Perfection.......

This morning on  Patricks blog he said Focus on Progress not Perfection,
and I actually breathed a sigh of relief and thought why have I been feeling like I have to be perfect and I in a way was starting to find my blog almost stressful. I started my Blog to talk about how immobile I had become with my illness and that I was starting a new healthy lifestyle.
I did not call it a diet. I just want to be healthy.Somewhere lately it has become about numbers and that is not what is important for me, so I thank Patrick for giving me a reminder that I needed.
......................
the following is an article from ezinearticles by Janet Bruce.

As a life coach I have the ability to not only help my clients but learn from them as well. One very important lesson I've learned is that seeking perfection is a roadblock to success. Why do we have such an obsession in this country with being perfect? Whether it's having the perfect body, perfect home, perfect kids, or perfect plans, our obsession with this impossible goal is ruining our collective lives. When setting goals, you can be sure your quest for perfection in achieving them will stop you in your tracks every time. Better to focus on progress rather than perfection.
For example, let's say you've set a goal this year to lose ten pounds. And you know in order to reach that goal you will have to change the way you eat, move and think about your health. Someone obsessed with being perfect will get caught up in all the things they are doing wrong instead of concentrating on all the things they are doing right. This is the number one deadly mistake people make when setting and achieving goals. When you find yourself getting caught up in all of the "wrong" you're doing, get in the habit of instantly recognizing a "right" that you're doing as well. For example:
Wrong: "Nice, I can't even walk around the block without getting winded."
Right: "I'm walking instead of eating a tub of rice pudding and watching Judge Judy like I really want to do.
Wrong: "Why didn't I order it on whole wheat? I know I'm not supposed to eat white foods. Might as well get the fries now too, idiot."
Right: "I did four and a half sit-ups this morning."
Perfection can never be reached by any living thing because perfection is a state of going no further, and life and all that's living it is, by nature, an act of creation, which has no stillness. Perfection, in essence, is exclaiming to the world, "There! I'm done. There's nothing left to become." Focusing on the progress you're making instead of being perfect will keep you motivated and allow you to make the necessary changes in your actions to achieve even better, faster results.
Janet has traveled all over the country and world in an effort to find ways to better herself and help others. It is through setting and achieving goals that she has gained personal strength and a resolve to never give up the good fight.
So my reminder today is to Don't Beat Yourself Up,
every bit of progress is wonderful and life changing,
And why try to be Perfect
When You Are Already Outstanding!
Hope you have the best Day Ever.

A 2 day Break, it feels like a week.

The sun was beaming in the window this afternoon for about ten minutes.
It was the best ten minutes ever.
I sit right next to where these flowers were,
so I got some sunshine too,
The warmth was heaven.
Now these tulips put a huge smile on my face the other day
when Hubby brought them home.
As soon as I saw the bright pink and yellows
my spirits seemed to lift.
I laughed when I noticed the last time I posted
was Wednesday and here it is Friday,
but I feel  good again, so so much for a break,
My surgeries are just playing the waiting game to get in,
but I have restless nights because of the hernia,
so if I fall behind my sleep then I fall.
take for example last night,
I get up in the middle of the night go to the computer room,
after I am coming out, hubby is just coming out of the bedroom,
it was dark, I had not heard him and he says hey what are you doing up?
I was startled since I did not know he was there,
another thing that triggers Cataplexy is being startled,
my legs went limp and down I went,
Hubby turns the light on and is telling me You will be okay,
I can't answer but I am thinking to myself,
Put on some shorts for land sakes,
I am thinking this as I am sitting up.
I say to him, what were you doing in the hallway, and why did you scare me,
He says I thought you were sleeping,
I was trying to be quiet.
I said to him Maybe next time you are helping me you could be wearing your pjs.
That is not what I want to be seeing when I am lying on the floor.,
and now he had me laughing again.,
the look on his face was priceless and I was just thinking,
please stop making me laugh, I just want to get up and walk
and go to bed. Finally we make it there and he asks if I am okay,
yes I am fine, I thanked him for helping me up.
I told him we need to figure out a system so that does not happen again.
you just never know when it will hit.
About a half an hour ago, the light goes on in the bedroom,
I hear in his deep voice, Just letting you know I am going through.
Okay thanks, all was good.
Thank you God Amen I muttered to myself.
.....................
sleep, soup, water, was my regime the last few days.
the flowers above were to make me feel better,
which they did.
Hubby said when he gave them to me,
Its  good time to get them after Valentines day.
they were on sale, and they were right at the counter,
I started to laugh, he just makes me laugh all the time,
thats why my sleep is so important.
............
I have thought if I ever wrote a book these might be some good titles,
I am Falling Down Again,
Laugh Until It Hurts
Dying Laughing
Another Laughing Matter
Laughter Can Really Hurt
.............
Sorry I am rambling on. Thank you all for your kind wishes.
Oh and Best News of All.
Hubby and I are starting to work out in the morning.
that should be fun.
as for the rest of the day I don't think
we will be venturing far,
it is minus forty here with the wind chill.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend,
remember life is what we make it.
Laugh at yourself and the world laughs with you.
remember we can do anything and everything
as best as we know how.
Be Your Very Best and I hope you
Have Your Very Best Day Ever!

Update.....happy with progress.

So I have noticed this week that I have more energy
and mentally am feeling really well,
some of my clothes are fitting a bit better,
so I feel I am really making progress,
and so does my doctor.
especially with my walking.
Most everyone in blog land has been very supportive and motivating,
The encouragement means a lot to me.
I don't have all the answers,
I am not perfect and don't ask you to be.
I am serious and dedicated to improving my health
one day at a time,
one meal at a time,.
trying to make better choices,
I think I am on a good path,
Continued success to all of us
whatever our struggles may be.

Gratitude

Thank you to everyone whom sent wishes about my back,
So here is a flower for you all to brighten your day.
Just like you brightened mine.
I wish I could say I was on the mend,
but I seem to be working in 4 hour rotations and as the painkiller
wears off then my back tightens up more.
I had a dentist appointment this am
that I cancelled as I just could not see myself being able to sit in the chair for too long.
Who wants me sitting in a chair with my mouth open going ahhh, going oohhhh, blah, blah, blah,
I think that could give a dentist a complex, but at least I would be giving him something else other than my
money!
So instead I had a quiet morning at home sipping my cupof coffee watching it rain outside,
We have had terrible fall weather, no flowers to look at because of the frost, just more and more clouds in the sky.
I have read a few of your blogs in envy over the heat you are having.
What I would give for just an hour sitting in the sun,
feeling the warmth on my body.
Right now that sounds like heaven to me.
So doctors orders are to take it very easy,
I am trying to walk, today is the first day without my cane for awhile,
so whoo hooo some progress yeah, backflip, cartwheel.
I really would if I could.
I know procrastination is not a form of exercise.
But stretching is and that is my mission for the week,
To stay active, to try to limber up,
to smile even when I want to cry,
to see the sun when I look at the clouds,
to be grateful for everything I have,
and to be grateful for everything I don't.
I think sometimes we forget the later,
Have a wonderful day!

Good News

We have had an extremely beautiful day here,
I got the best results at my doctors office,
and then my SIL and I went and sat down overlooking the city
and had a morning coffee,
It was beautiful and peaceful,
just what I needed after being a little stressed this past week.
Dylan has made his way out of the hospital,
which is pretty amazing for four days,
and now he will be going through extensive therapy
to regain the use of his hand,
he already has some feeling in two of the fingers,
so this is good.
Thanks to everyone whom has inquired about him,
and for the kind messages. they were really appreciated.
So that is all I have for today,
The sun is shining, my hubby just got home,
and we can still catch about an hour of sun.
Take care until tomorrow.

Staying Cool!

Some of you have been saying how hot it has been,
so imagine swimming under here,
or paddling by in a canoe,
feeling the spray of the water
wet your warm skin
instantly cooling, making you smile
for even the few moments of coolness,
making you forget how hot and humid and uncomfortable you feel.
When you get back to shore,
waiting for you is the sweetest freshest watermellon
that has been chilling on ice.
On a hot day that would make me swoon,
and a ice cold glass of fresh water
with crushed ice.
You put some on your forhead and feel it fall
down the front of your face,
enjoying the freshness
and renewed energy.
You walk at the waters edge, the wind changes
and you can feel the mist of the water
falling gently on you, evaporating in a moment,
you welcome the continuous mist that makes it your way,
the wind shifts and you decide one more trip
to the fountain to cool off and go for a swim,
Wonderful, lazy days of summer.
I hope you all enjoy your weekend.
It is supposed to be hot here,
the Indy is in town, and our Capital Ex,
used to be known as Klondyke Days.
I don't live far from either, so
there will be lots of noise,
the buzz of the cars,
fireworks at eleven each night,
music from the bandstands,
and I can enjoy it all from my own back yard.
Be well, take care,
may you have your Very Best of Days.

Time Keeps on Blowing........

Lately the days have been blending from one to another,
I have been eating healthy and making good choices,
Drinking lots and lots of water,
and hearing about lots of water,
the weather has been strange strange,
a storm is blowing in again,
and there has been flooding close to my hometown
I have just spent a week with a friend that has visited with me.
We had a wonderful time and I decided she eats like a bird.
She would laugh if she heard me say that, she is 82 and just did not have much of an appetite
although we seemed to sit up at 1 in the morning having girl talks,
and that is when she seemed to get hungry.
We got into some pretty heavy conversations about life, etc,
she is worried about me, but says that I seem to be doing better than last time I saw her.
I told her I was doing just fine, and that life is not so drastic when you look at how others have to live,
she just thinks I sleep too much.
but such is the life of someone whom has Narcolepsy.
I have a doctors appointment on Tuesday
and am really glad that summer is here, our weather is amazing, sun shining most of the time,
so all is well in my world. I know that I am living the best that I possibly can
and that makes it all Okay to Me.
Thank you to those of you who visited over at Se'lahs blog
and that have joined her next Tuesday.
It should be fun and as she would say
One love,
Have Your Very Best Day Ever!
.........Sorry that I have not had time to reply to all your comments, I want you to know
that I appreciate every one of them and you.
I will be better now that my company has gone.
Take care, be well.

In or Out.....Tooth or Cat.

Here is my cat where she spent most of her weekend,
neither inside or outside,
just on the ledge,
waiting for some
excitement to encourage her onward.
Today I have an abscess that was to be pulled out,
but they can not get me in until tomorrow afternoon,
The good news is I have not been eating much,
The bad news is having this over the weekend,
especially with the weather being so gorgeous.
I will not be around for a few days,
Take care and be well,
Thinking about you all.

A round of Applause.

When I look at the picture of this tree,
it makes me think of a hand being held upright.
Can you see it?
A little, well I do.
Today I  had a Doctors appointment,
and all went well.
Once again it was a huge struggle for me making it down the long corridors.
I had to stop and have a rest on the benches.
I don't know if it is my illness,
or if it has been deconditioning since my illness.
Anyway I will just keep doing what I have been.
Some days I get a little down about it,
I have to say reading all your stories continue to inspire me everyday.
Most of you are all doing so well,
and today I am giving you all a hand of applause
as you deserve it.
Some of you I have only know for a short time,
Some are the reason I started this blog.
All in all you do make it easier and keep me on my path.
Going forward, being determined, with hope.
Thank you all so much.
Have a great day.

He Thinks He Owns the Place!

Cesar the Dog Whisperer would be telling me to get him off the furniture, but he is such a good dog. He gets to sleep on the futon. He is a much different dog since the other one left us, which has been a week now.
Kula is just fine with it, I believe the whole house is better again. So as for news at Cinners House of Craziness we watched Olympics just about all weekend, did get some things accomplished, but I do have to say this, Watching the Olympics for seventeen days straight I think when I wake in the morning I am going to be up exercising. The athletes were truly enspiring, Their dedication just amazes me and reminds me if I really want this. then I have to work for it. I also have to call the Weight Wise program and book a module for a Nutritionist, since it is March 1 I  can get started with the next phase. Well it is the middle of the night, hit with some insomnia tonight because I am overtired, so with nap time tomorrow, I will get back on track for the next day.  I think I should live in Mexico where Siestas are just part of the schedule, but you know what the heat would kill me, maybe when I am a hundred pounds lighter.......I would like to drop 50 pounds by Sept. 1
That is my goal , and I am quite excited about it, motivated, believing in oneself, and I have a wonderful group of people giving me support and encouragement and for that I thank you so much. I hope you have your very Best Day Ever. Take care.

Too Much Sleep

No, I did not bake this cake, although it looks tasty. I will not be eating any more cake!
I have decided this after watching Dr. Oz on Oprah!
I like him, I think he says enough that you realize just maybe I am headed for trouble!
One of the surprises was when he said that people on an average consume 150 lbs. of sugar every year.
He had bags of sugar sitting there, it was an incredible amount of sugar..
Another thing he said was if you drink a pop a day you r chances of getting diabetes increases by 83  per cent.
Boy I am just a bundle of great news today aren't I!
I will tell you the show scared the heck out of me.
Our family is genetically disposed to getting it.
,,,,,,,,,
So this is the thing, in the last month I have been so tired,
due to the fact that I have a variant of Narcolepsy,
Right now because of the excessive Day Time Sleepiness
I have been having a hard time with my exercising!
I sleep eighteen hours a day right now,
and do not ever feel rested.
I am not depressed,
this is all part of the illness!
...........
So I said to my sister that I now have fifty followers and how I am so excited about that!
that this year I have gained 50 followers and I don't believe I have lost a pound.
I know the only way I can get this going is to exercise.
I really am in a horrible situation,
knowing I have too, but most days I can't!
As I really worry about what is in store for me down the road.!
So this is getting honest with myself.
I have been doing very well with the eating,
but because I am back to sleeping so much again.
I had two days in January that I had some energy.
I know if I lost weight I would have more energy.
Imagine sleeping most of your life away.
I am not complaining or making excuses,
I am just getting real.
I hope I don't lose any of my followers,
I have been talking the talk, but I have not been walking the walk.
I hate being sick, and I don't want to get worse.
Anyway I can't beat myself up with this.
Just get on track tomorrow,
and try not to sleep my day away!
Take Care, I hope you have been doing better than I have lately.
Let's try to have our very Best Day!
